A Study of Satisfaction and Characteristics of Physical Therapy Usage on Senior Center

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify factors related with characteristics of demographics and utilization of physical therapy service that affect satisfaction of physical therapy on elderly in senior center. The subjects were older adults aged over 60 years (total 212) and recruited in 40 senior centers located in each province. Using a survey instrument developed by the authors, subjects responded to questions concerning overall satisfaction with physical therapy services provided by senior center. The collected data was analysed with the SPSS 21.0 program. Basically, reliability checks and factor analyses method were performed twelve items reflected satisfaction of physical therapy services in senior center. Collected data was analysed frequency, chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis for each satisfaction factors. Three satisfied factors including effectiveness of physical therapy, professionalism of physical therapist and availability of physical therapy department were obtained by using a factors analysis. User satisfaction with physical therapy services in senior centers was associated with the number of visits per week, the number of applied physical therapy services (hot pack, ultra sound, traction, infrared, therapeutic exercise, etc.) and subjective health condition. The importance of this study lies in its identification of factors associated with on user satisfaction with physical therapy services in senior centers.
